Innovative digital printing technology offers a more sustainable and efficient solution to help packaging companies reduce their environmental impact

SCREEN Europe, a leading Japanese digital print equipment manufacturer, is proud to unveil its next generation of inkjet digital printing equipment for flexible packaging at the interpack industry fair in Düsseldorf, from 4-10 May (Hall 8B, Stand H29). As a more sustainable and efficient solution, this innovative digital printing technology helps packaging converters reduce their environmental impact and reach their sustainability goals.
Sustainability is at the core of SCREEN Europe’s inkjet digital printing technology, enabling converters to produce flexible packaging with less waste, fewer CO2 emissions, and lower energy consumption. With its proven track record in innovative digital printing technology, SCREEN has long been at the forefront of the digital print market, with thousands of its machines currently operating efficiently and reliably across the world.
New technologies SCREEN Europe will feature at interpack 2023 include:
SCREEN’s latest Plastic Pouches printed using the Truepress PAC830F and converted through close collaboration with leading partners and stakeholders in the flexible packaging industry. This demonstrates the robustness of its digital printing inks during standard post-print converting processes, such as lamination, slitting, and pouch making.
The new Truepress PAC830F is a single-pass water-based inkjet digital printing press designed for the cost-effective production of mainstream flexible packaging. It can handle a much higher number of jobs per day than conventional analogue processes.
SCREEN is also moving forward with product planning for its Truepress PAC 520P – a high-speed, water-based inkjet digital press for paper-based packaging substrates, with a much lower environmental impact than conventional printing processes. This agile and flexible digital printing press will help to accelerate mass-market adoption on the sustainability trend to replace plastic flexible packaging structures for a paper-based equivalent with similar performance and barrier properties with the consequent reduction in the use of polymer films.
In addition, SCREEN will be showcasing its market-leading Truepress L350 UV SAI inkjet digital press for label and packaging production using low-migration UV inks. This fast and reliable UV ink digital label press is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the packaging industry. It provides consistent, high-quality output that meets the demands of the most challenging label and packaging applications. Using low-migration UV inks, the press ensures that food and beverage packaging remains safe for consumption, making it ideal for flexible packaging production.
SCREEN helps optimise the supply chain through workflow automation
In today’s competitive marketplace, digital technologies are essential for meeting the demand for customised and visually appealing packaging designs that create a more engaging consumer experience. SCREEN Europe’s inkjet digital printing technology offers the perfect solution for digitalising the packaging industry, allowing brands to differentiate themselves with stunning, high-quality visuals, while safeguarding their colour fidelity.
In addition, SCREEN Europe’s inkjet digital printing technology and process automation offer significant advantages for optimising production supply chains in uncertain times. By integrating digital printing with workflow process automation, SCREEN Europe’s solutions deliver reduced lead times, increased efficiency, improved accuracy, and better inventory management. This powerful combination of technologies is essential for companies seeking to streamline their operations and maintain competitiveness in today's fast-paced business environment.
