New market segment, new format
Following expansion of its production facility in Podolsk near Moscow, VMS-Print was looking for a half-format sheetfed offset press with UV drying specifically for printing on non-absorbent substrates. It was intended to produce packaging using metallised board, plastics and other similar materials. As the company had to date lacked the necessary equipment, the printing for such jobs was outsourced to partner companies. VMS-Print then took care of the post-press steps.

Solucan will install the world’s first Tonejet Cyclone direct-to-can digital printing system at the company’s new facility in Quebec, Canada. The system will give Northeast American beverage producers all the benefits of short run digital can decoration without the high cost, waste and recycling headaches that come with traditional labels and shrink-sleeves.
