That’s the conclusion of a brand survey done by the analyst firm Opticom International Research. Mathhew International’s subsidiary SGK, the leading global brand development, activation, and deployment company, has chosen its partner for the future. HYBRID Software and its CLOUDFLOW workflow solution will be used by SGK facilities worldwide. Earlier this year, SGK installed more than 400 seats of HYBRID’s PACKZ PDF editor in their production facilities while performing an extensive pilot program, code-named “Shockwave”, which tested PROOFSCOPE and CLOUDFLOW for live automated production in selected facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia. After more than 12 months of dedicated effort by SGK and HYBRID, the pilot program was a huge success and PROOFSCOPE and CLOUDFLOW have now been deployed for live production worldwide.

Nägele Digital Repro GmbH of Kempten, in the far south of Germany at the gateway to the Alps, is one of a worldwide community of KODAK FLEXCEL NX System users to have successfully completed the KODAK Certification Program for KODAK FLEXCEL NX Plates. While digital printing is already firmly established in the label and commercial printing sector, flexible packaging continues to be a challenge: An economical and stable digital printing process has yet to be developed. W&H, machine builder and specialist for flexible packaging, has reached a first milestone in its development project with a machine concept for a new digital printing machine. Now the technology leader starts onboarding partners, including leading inkjet printhead manufacturer Xaar. The digital printing machine from W&H is based on piezo inkjet technology.

Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H), leader in machinery and systems for the manufacturing and converting of flexible packaging, is developing its first digital, single-pass press for flexible packaging using Xaar 5601 printheads. The printhead was selected as a result of successful performance tests conducted over several months last year.
The announcement from W&H is a significant milestone in the development of an economical and stable digital printing process for flexible packaging, following the successful adoption of digital technology by the labelling and commercial printing sectors.
