The Danish high-tech company Trojanlabel has made a remarkable impact on the digital label and packaging print market. During its first three years of existence, the company has launched three different digital printing solutions, each a success story of its own.
The proof of Trojanlabel’s success now shows in the results. With an incredible 60% growth rate, the company’s turnover in year three is more than DKK 50 million with a profit margin of 10%. Growth and profit is expected to continue, according to Trojanlabel Managing Director, Mikkel Wichmann.
Short time to market and affordability
The story behind the success of the digital printers Trojan 1, 2 and 3 is based on two factors in particular: Trojanlabel manage product development and manufacturing processes very tightly to ensure a short time to market, and they are very focused on creating a product which is affordable to a broad range of users and industries.
– We aim to develop a solution that solves the many challenges our customers face, and not necessarily a solution, that comprises every dazzling features one could wish for. These would eventually complicate the solution and increase the cost of the final product. And we develop the solutions without compromising the quality, which is essential to our customers, says Mikkel Wichmann, Co-founder and Managing Director of Trojanlabel.
To accomplish this, Trojanlabel has established competitive production facilities in China with 25 dedicated employees. Here, they produce and assemble the printers while design and innovation takes place in Denmark.

The accessibility of Trojanlabel’s products does not only concern their presence in the market and their affordability but, just as much, their ease-of-use. The equipment is easy to install due to the compact design, and the software is so simple that you can start producing right out of the box. Training and habituation is almost redundant.
