Mondi, global leader in innovative and sustainable packaging and paper solutions, has been recognised in four product categories at the WorldStar Packaging Awards. The annual competition rewards the greatest achievements in packaging innovation and technologies worldwide, with a focus on both sustainability and end-user convenience. While the judging process was hosted in November in Indonesia, the Gala Awards Ceremony will take place at the interpack 2020 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Metsä Board, the leading European producer of premium fresh fibre paperboards and part of Metsä Group, is proud to have been awarded the Gold level rating by EcoVadis for the third consecutive year for its approach to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Overall Metsä Board is also in the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the manufacture of corrugated paper and paperboard industry.

Kiilto has developed a hot melt adhesive that enables the production of fully compostable packaging – among other things. A biodegradable adhesive can replace the usual hot melt adhesives made, for example, from oil-based raw materials in various applications in the packaging industry and in the production of hygiene products. The other qualities of this biodegradable adhesive are the same as those of hot melt adhesives currently on the market. But what stands out is its environmental performance.

Stora Enso has entered into a strategic collaboration with HS Manufacturing Group (HSMG), a producer of plant-based barrier coatings, to develop Stora Enso’s formed fiber offering. Stora Enso will leverage HSMG’s PROTĒAN™ technology for food contact packaging applications. The technology offers a biodegradable and recyclable additive that gives fiber-based packaging water-, grease- and oil-resistant properties.

BST eltromat International, a leading manufacturer of quality assurance systems in web processing production processes, and SeeOne Vision Technology srl, a manufacturer of surface inspection systems based in Florence, Italy, signed a partnership agreement at K 2019. BST eltromat Italia, a 100% subsidiary of the BST GROUP, has been working with SeeOne for many years on special surface inspection requirements. The good cooperation has now resulted in the partnership agreement signed by BST eltromat Managing Director Kristian Jünke and Leandro Giovannoni, General Manager of SeeOne, at the BST eltromat stand in Hall 4 (Stand C34).

Stora Enso, along with other members of CEPI, the European association representing the forest fiber and paper industry, are joining forces with companies across the value chain to drive the recycling of fiber-based packaging and collaboration in circular design and materials to enable positive change in circular economy.

C&T Matrix, (C&T), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of creasing matrix and accessories, has set objectives to reduce manufacturing waste by up to 40% by 2022 through initiatives such as recycling selected waste streams produced during manufacture. It will do this by transforming manufacturing processes at its UK production plant and investing in new technology.
