A new investment in the production of sleeves and a strengthening of the collaboration with ICR are the novelties of Digital Flex at PRINT4ALL
Digital Flex will introduce its comprehensive strategy in prepress services for the packaging industry at PRINT4ALL, Hall 18, Stand D08 / E07, which will take place in Milan from May 29th to June 1st. In addition to making the Flexo HD Plus® plates, the company reinforces the production of elastomer sleeves with the installation of a production line at the Monza site. Furthermore, it intensifies the already existing collaboration with ICR Spa (Gravure Cylinder Engraving), proposing a multi-technology pre-printing solution specialized in packaging.
“Working with the great brands, we received requests for the supply of photopolymer plates having in flexography the same quality that was achieved in rotogravure printing", comments Andrea Vergnano, Senior Executive Vice President of Digital Flex. “With this renewed collaboration with ICR, we aim to provide a complete service, leaving the brand owner company the freedom to decide the technology to print with. To have a one stop shop for all pre-press services will be a great advantage for both brand owners and packaging printers”.
The new technological investment
PRINT4ALL will be the official launch of the new sleeve production plant for Digital Flex. It will be installed at the Monza site two weeks before the fair and it will allow the company to increase its production capacity. With this investment, the tradition of innovation continues to keep high the technological level of the company as well as its commercial competitiveness: “We are not new in supplying sleeves, both in photopolymer and elastomer; our experience in the round field began about 15 years ago, with the partnership with the French Medialliance company, a currently widely tested collaboration, and where our sleeves are currently being manufactured ", says Andrea Vergnano.
The Digital Flex’s choice fell on the Flexostar PrintMaster HYBRID 3.1 from Lead Lasers. The machine has a double CO2 and YAG laser, which allows to produce both plates and sleeves. Its 5800 dpi resolution and its ability to affect up to 85 lines per centimeter places it at a high quality level. The machine will enable the production of sleeves from a minimum width of 260 mm to a maximum of 3000.
