Upgrade Enfocus PitStop Server with advanced automation features

Enfocus, the leader in PDF quality control, advanced PDF editing and workflow automation for the graphic arts industry, announces a revolutionary change to PitStop Server. To meet the changing needs of the market and customers, Enfocus is extending the power and functionality of PitStop Server, the automated PDF preflighting and correction application, through the functional integration of Switch, Esko's industry-leading automation platform.

PitStop Server receives an upgrade in the form of Switch user functionality. All automation benefits of Switch Core will be available in PitStop Server 2020. Users want more automation, and one of the key requirements is to improve job preparation. PDFs are automatically received and processed, so they are ready to print faster. The new PitStop Server functionality now meets exactly these customer requirements and helps them to further expand their automation capabilities in the future.

"Our customers not only need PDF processing, but also more efficient automation of the entire process. Today's market demands faster, optimized product delivery. Hot folder-based technology is no longer the best way to automate. PitStop Server must now take the workflow of customers further and offer them more options. So now we not only offer best-in-class PDF preflighting and correction capabilities, but also new flexible automation enhancements," says Senior Product Manager Andrew Bailes-Collins.

This brings Switch Core to the table:

Flexible workflows without folder structure restrictions
Browser-based job tracking and overview via job boards
Automatic receiving and sending of files via FTP and e-mail
Sorting and forwarding of files based on type, name and job and document variables
Renaming and archiving of files
Split and merge PDF files
Compress and decompress job folders
Conversion from PDF to JPG
Access to the Enfocus Appstore for the integration of third-party solutions
Facilitating the transition for current users is also part of Enfocus' strategy for a better version of PitStop Server. Starting with the PitStop 2020 version, users with a corresponding PitStop Server license and a maintenance contract are entitled to a Switch Core 2020 license, which will be available in June. Switch Core is integrated with PitStop Server and provides more functionality in addition to the current PitStop Server features, allowing users to migrate their PitStop Server workflows to take advantage of the new capabilities as they become available. The goal is to make it easier for users to make the transition to the new way of working over several years, rather than introducing a quick change that they will be forced to accept.
