CHILI publish, the market leader in software for smart artwork and marketing material creation, presents its latest and most significant update for labels and packaging - CHILI publisher 5.7. According to the wishes of users, especially from the label and packaging industry, the barcode generation has been restructured. In addition: mixed color palettes, which support different processing steps per color, and a "step function" for the PDF generator, which optimizes workflow processes. Printing United visitors can see the innovations combined with the Adobe® Illustrator® plug-in in action - October 23-25, Dallas, USA, booth 11657.

Laetus and PDF417 barcode generation
GS1-compliant barcodes were integrated for the first time, enabling the pharmaceutical industry to build new, future-proof packaging infrastructures. 1-Bar-Pharmacodes (Laetus) for comprehensive packaging control and traceability can be created and edited in direct communication with a PIM system. The serialization requirements from the Russian Crypto Code Act are also supported.

But that's not all: new functions for PDF417 barcodes are likely to appeal specifically to the transport and logistics sector. This format is also frequently used by public authorities.

Mixed color palettes
Another innovation that has been requested by many is the mixed colour palette of process and special colours. An important concern in label and packaging design, in whatever industry, has been taken up. Different separation processes can be assigned to one and the same color in order to handle overprints and recesses flexibly and intuitively. Combinations of CMYK and a spot or special color can be used to quickly and easily add a further layer to colored motifs or texts - such as white, varnish or edge grinding.

Step by step - better than ever
Fresh wind for the "step function" in the PDF generator! Variable data sources are now also supported. Basic elements of a packaging or label design can be enriched for printing with variable data (VDP) by countless variants. The printing process is also included in the design. There is no need for additional steps such as impositioning.

Users have spoken - and CHILI publish, the globally renowned authority on templates, has listened. CHILI publisher 5.7 brings considerable added value to label and packaging design with powerful new functions that are all about efficiency and automation. The most diverse markets and industries are addressed. Productivity in this area, which is so important to the company, can thus be drastically increased.
