The coatings industry is progressively transitioning toward low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and bio-based technologies due to stringent global environmental regulations. Paints and other coatings prepared using traditional methods are characterized by high VOC emissions, which harm the atmosphere and living beings. Hence, industries will likely shift toward powder coatings, bio coatings, and other green solutions. Such options provide environment-friendly features, improve performance measures, cut costs, and adhere to regulations, leading to good business returns and long-term successes.

In the packaging industry, the expiry of inks plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality, reducing waste, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
