Narrow web ink and varnish specialist Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd will exhibit at Labelexpo Asia 2017 in Shanghai from 5-8 December alongside with its partners Shanghai Value Tech Co. Ltd and ANO, to showcase its flagship PureTone ink system and new innovative PureScreen inks.

At the 6th Alcohol Innovation Congress 2017, from the 5th to the 6th of December in London, everything will be focussed on the business of product innovation and development. Zanders, a German producer of speciality papers and cartons for labels and packaging, is attending as a sponsor to serve the current market trends in creating a powerful POS impact: Manufacturers of spirits, wines and beers are increasingly investing in the presentation of their products – special bottle shapes; striking labels and embossed packaging refined by sophisticated foil finishing and chromatic lacquering are very much in demand.

In an increasingly competitive world, reducing costs, increasing production speed, lowering set-up times and striving for the finest quality are key factors for a company to position itself in the market. This applies particularly to Grupo La Papelera in Bolivia, a large-scale and long-established printing company for boxes and display materials with seven business divisions in the country. Its factory for corrugated cardboard in El Alto is sited in the Andes at 4,100 m above sea level, giving it the distinction of being the highest BOBST client in the world. Recently it extended its collection by two new highly automated BOBST machines, a 1228 NT five-color off-line flexo press and a MASTERCUT 2.1 cutting and creasing system. These are already allowing the company to increase productivity and expand their product range.

In the world of packaging it is sometimes complicated to achieve something that looks simple, minimalist and elegant. The paperboard cartons for Jimmy Choo’s L’EAU that was launched in summer 2017 is a clear example of this. Its colour is pale pink apart from the brand, the name of the contents, and the fact that it is an eau de toilette. Yet the packaging has passed through twelve finishing stages.

With the acquisition of a new M5X inline flexo press, Tom Druk, a leading label converting company based in Lodz, Poland, maintains its on-going programme of investment in leading-edge technology. Completion of the sales took place at Labelexpo Europe 2017, where the M5X was demonstrated on the BOBST stand. The machine chosen by Tom Druk features 10 colors and is fully equipped with UV LED curing technology and Digital Flexo 3.0.
