Zumbiel Packaging, North America’s largest producer of digitally printed folding cartons, has established itself as an industry innovator through its forward-thinking approach to adopting digital print for folding carton production. Recognizing the growing demand for faster turnaround and customization, Zumbiel has embraced digital printing technologies to revolutionize the traditional folding carton manufacturing process. True to form, Zumbiel’s high speed T470S Press is configured unlike anything else in the folding carton industry. The massive new digital production line, which measures over 180 feet in length, features automated roll handling and splicing, water-based expanded gamut inks, inline coatings, inline post-print sheeting and downstream material handling logistics which will enable Zumbiel Packaging to feed their stable of large format (145 cm) sheet-fed die-cutters with unmatched speed, efficiency and flexibility.
According to Ed Zumbiel, the robust HP PageWide T470S Press perfectly complements their mega-volume beverage multipack production model and increases efficiency throughout their operations by providing greater order flexibility, more production agility, and faster speed to market with exceptional print quality. The high-speed, high-throughput (approximately 1,000,000 square feet per eight-hour shift) inkjet press line will also minimize production waste and support versioned and variable graphics, thereby empowering brands to stand out in a highly crowded and competitive marketplace.
