• Bischof + Klein obtains FlexoExpert Certification to support its long-term sustainability management
The family-owned company, Bischof + Klein, is one of Europe's leading full-service suppliers of flexible plastic and plastic laminate packaging and technical films. The product range encompasses both traditional industrial packaging as well as highly converted consumer packaging and innovative special films for technical applications. The concept of “sustainability” runs throughout Bischof + Klein's entire history of more than 125 years and was its key driver to participate in Flint Group’s FlexoExpert Certification Program. As of spring 2017, Bischof + Klein in Konzell (Germany) can call themselves an official FlexoExpert.
During a six month process consisting of three main steps – evaluation and training, implementation, and audit – the FlexoExpert Certification Program provides the means by which plate makers can further optimize their work flow processes to make more reliable and consistent plates time and again. With the guidance of a Flint Group expert, Bischof + Klein implemented the program and passed a final audit. Bischof + Klein uses this certification to demonstrate to its customers that the company offers best practices in manufacturing its flexographic printing plates and that they can continue to rely on Bischof + Klein's delivering plates of outstanding quality with absolute reliability.
"The FlexoExpert certification is a further element for standardising process parameters whilst simultaneously increasing quality in high definition flexographic printing", says Helmut Wenzl, printing department production manager at B+K Konzell.
With its plate making expertise and focus on service, Flint Group first introduced the program in April 2016, and offers it globally to customers interested in gaining further education on the standardization of the flexo platemaking process.
