Schreiner ProTech, a Germany-based global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative functional labels with value-added benefits for automotive engineering-based industries, has developed groundbreaking film heaters for the effective de-icing of advanced driver assistance Systems (ADAS). Installed in the enclosures of environment-monitoring systems, the solutions ensure reliable and permanent de-icing of sensors.

The concept of the smart factory is on everyone’s lips. Companies that turn this forward-thinking scenario into reality achieve the leap into modular manufacturing and secure crucial competitive advantages—because the requirements in production and logistics are becoming increasingly complex. RFID technology assists in this endeavor by providing every component with its own identity and thereby enables autonomous control within the production process and end-to-end data acquisition across the entire supply chain. At RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow 2019 in Darmstadt on October 29 and 30, Schreiner ProTech together with Schreiner LogiData will unveil its new ((rfid))-DistaFerr Global Label that has been optimized for worldwide use and specifically for application to metal containers. Other highlights to be showcased include ((rfid)) products for marking ESD material substrates and for high-temperature applications.

Leonhard Kurz, together with its industry partners, will be presenting the latest developments in its decoration processes at the K 2019 plastics trade fair. At the trade fair booths of three injection molding machine manufacturers who provide the necessary high-performance machines and automation technology for these processes, there will be live demonstrations of rationalized and optimized processes for Kurz plastics decoration and sensor integration.

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) pave the way to self-driving vehicles. In 2022, they will become mandatory in the EU in order to improve road safety. To achieve this objective, the camera, Radar and LiDar (light detection and ranging) systems have to accurately function in all weather conditions. Especially at freezing temperatures, sensors must be deiced quickly and kept ice-free while the vehicle is on the road. Specifically for ADAS applications, Schreiner ProTech offers innovative film heaters based on printed electronics. Installed in the enclosures of the environment-monitoring systems, they ensure reliable and permanent deicing of the sensors.

Empty medicine containers with original labels that are filled with ineffective or harmful substitutes and re-introduced into the market by counterfeiters pose a risk to patients and a challenge to pharmaceutical manufacturers. With the Flexi-Cap security concept Schreiner MediPharm has developed a label-cap combination that protects the integrity of the original containers and helps to prevent their illegal reuse by means of clear, irreversible first-opening indication. At CPhI Worldwide 2019 in Frankfurt from November 5 to 7, Schreiner MediPharm will present Flexi-Cap Prime, the latest version that offers even higher safety.
