Thimm produces bottle packaging in chess figure design and thus wins international competition. Combined with a corrugated board chessboard, 32 bottle packs make up the popular "beer chess" party game. The original promotion campaign for the beverage industry convinced the expert jury of the Czech packaging award Obal roku in the category "POP & POS Displays".
The gift packages are designed in such a way that they are put over the bottles as bouncers. They are locked there with the crown corks, making them suitable for glass bottles of any size. Thimm produces the corrugated board packaging in E-flute and prints it using the digital printing process. This makes it possible to create an individual design for each individual chessman. In addition to the 32 bottle packs, a corrugated cardboard blank in the design of a chessboard is used. Both are made of 100 percent corrugated board and therefore represent a sustainable solution for promotional campaigns in the beverage industry.
The Czech packaging competition Obal roku annually awards innovative packaging and displays with the title "Packaging of the Year". This year, the jury of experts selected the winners from 13 categories. Thimm competed with the beer chess packaging in the category "POP & POS Displays" and prevailed as the winner. The award ceremony will take place on 24 October 2019 in Prague.
