Since the supermarket shelf today represents the prime source of wines for consumer purchase, the same rules of shelf ‘stand out’ apply as for other retail products. It is of paramount importance to ‘make the brand speak, and, while wine packaging as a whole -- from glass bottle to bag-in-box, carton, and pouch -- is a highly-active field of endeavor today, the prime contributor to high-visibility shelf appeal remains… the simple wine label.

One of the highlights of the release liner and label industry’s year is the AWA Label Release Liner Industry Seminar, held annually in conjunction with Labelexpo in both Europe and North America. The 2016 seminar in Chicago brought together nearly 100 delegates from across the value chain to discuss and update their knowledge, and to network with peers and industry experts.

Trends shaping the North American plastics industry include growing use of advanced digital design and manufacturing software and increased automation of production. Recent developments give companies throughout the product chain more ways to optimize operations, speed products to market and increase competitiveness.
