Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital production technologies, has announced that The Label Makers in the UK has successfully completed beta testing of its new digital, high speed, eight-colour Tau 330 RSC Label Press. The pioneering company from Bradford, Yorkshire, chose the machine to keep it ahead of the curve and is now expanding into new and developing markets.

Based in Gauteng South Africa, label convertors, Silverline Print have invested in an 8 colour Edale FL3 flexographic press with a 350mm web width and UV drying. The press also has an array of rail mounted options including a turnbar, inter-print lamination, cold foil and a delam/relam module and can be upgraded with additional options at any point in the future. Silverline, an existing Edale customer, offer label solutions to various industries including pharmaceutical, health and beauty and the food and beverage market.

Grafiques Manlleu, a Spanish label printer located in the small city of Manlleu in the north of Catalonia, recently purchased a Polar SC 21 square-cut label system. This new POLAR cutting system consists of the loading table on the rear part of the AC 115 cutter and the automatic introducer of the stacks to the automatic bander MB 105. It is running next to two Polar DC 11 die- cutting systems. This system speeds up the output in the cutting section of square labels while increasing the quality of the products.

Mathhew International’s subsidiary SGK, the leading global brand development, activation, and deployment company, has chosen its partner for the future. HYBRID Software and its CLOUDFLOW workflow solution will be used by SGK facilities worldwide. Earlier this year, SGK installed more than 400 seats of HYBRID’s PACKZ PDF editor in their production facilities while performing an extensive pilot program, code-named “Shockwave”, which tested PROOFSCOPE and CLOUDFLOW for live automated production in selected facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia. After more than 12 months of dedicated effort by SGK and HYBRID, the pilot program was a huge success and PROOFSCOPE and CLOUDFLOW have now been deployed for live production worldwide.

Nägele Digital Repro GmbH of Kempten, in the far south of Germany at the gateway to the Alps, is one of a worldwide community of KODAK FLEXCEL NX System users to have successfully completed the KODAK Certification Program for KODAK FLEXCEL NX Plates. This certification program, launched by Kodak five years ago, requires companies to demonstrate that the FLEXCEL NX Plates they produce are consistently made to a standard Kodak global specification.

This new system will not only complement their existing 6 color 40” press but replaces their 12 year old RMGT7 series press. Manufactured by RYOBI MHI Graphic Technology and purchased through Canadian distributor KBR Graphics, the new press is equipped with automatic plate changing, smart make-ready technology and LED-UV instant curing.
