Konica Minolta today announced a new label printing system - the AccurioLabel 400 - that will strengthen the company's presence in the label, packaging and converting markets. The European market leader in digital label printing systems, with a market share of 26% in 20211, has revealed initial details of the machine, which is aimed at label manufacturers with medium to high print volumes and offers affordable, top-quality digital printing.

The first public presentation of the AccurioLabel 400 took place today at Konica Minolta's European Labels & Packaging Exhibition in Madrid. The official sales launch is scheduled for Q1 in 2023.
The Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 400 will also be of interest to AccurioLabel 230 customers looking to expand their own business in the growing label production and packaging markets. Key new developments include the ability to print white toner applications, improved productivity with exceedingly fast print speeds of up to 39.9 metres per minute, and further cost reductions through even longer component life and improved print quality. The new AccurioLabel 400 is available in 4- and 5-colour options.
Konica Minolta's Intelligent Quality Care and the IQ-520 increase the ease of use and automation of the AccurioLabel 400, so your label production benefits from greater production control. Intelligent Quality Care provides real-time white toner opacity control, colour stability control and automatic calibration, density adjustment and profiling.
With a resolution of 1200 dpi (equivalent to 3600 dpi), the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 400 toner production printing system prints on a web up to 330 mm or 250 mm wide.
Multiple touch-screen monitors in three different areas of the label printing system enable intuitive operation and are easy for users to handle, eliminating the need for extensive user training. Jobs that were time-consuming to set up on analogue machines can be produced quickly and accurately and have stable print quality.
This year Konica Minolta celebrated the 1,000th installation of its highly successful AccurioLabel 230 toner digital printing system - less than seven years after entering the label market.
"The AccurioLabel 400 complements our broad range of innovative printing solutions for digital transformation, which also includes workflow, software and process automation, as well as cloud solutions as part of the evolution to the smart factory," explains Mirko Pelzer, Offering Manager, Professional Printing at Konica Minolta Germany & Austria. "The digitisation of the label industry will continue to accelerate with double-digit annual growth forecast. Opportunities are everywhere to live innovation."
"The launch of the AccurioLabel 400 at the European Labels & Packaging Exhibition is another opportunity for us to help our customers seize opportunities and expand their service offering. As a global player and partner, we are constantly rethinking processes and helping our customers grow."
He adds, "With an estimated 7,000+ label manufacturers in the mid- and high-volume markets, we are confident of capturing a significant market share with our AccurioLabel 400, which boasts a highly competitive total cost of ownership."
