Videojet Technologies, a global leader in marking and printing solutions, brings an innovation to the fiber laser market with the release of the new Videojet® 7340 and 7440 fiber laser marking systems, the first to feature Lightfoot™, the world's smallest laser marking head.
The 7340 (20 Watt) and 7440 (30 Watt) fibre lasers benefit from Videojet's 30 years of experience in the laser market and have been developed to improve user-friendliness and ensure seamless integration through new technologies. The compact design meets the requirements of manufacturers working in tight spaces. The devices are the ideal solution for packaging companies and OEMs in the consumer goods, component marking and pharmaceutical industries who have limited space, are looking for easy integration options or frequently change products.
The Lightfoot fiber laser marking head is unique. It is the smallest laser marking head in the industry in both size and weight and is specifically designed to meet the stringent IP69K requirements, making it suitable for use in washdown and other harsh environments without the need for additional protective equipment.
The compact Lightfoot marking head weighs less than 1 kg and measures 205 mm. It is similar in size to a Videojet continuous inkjet print head, requiring fewer mounting brackets than a standard laser marking head. This enables quick set-up and repositioning and extends the range of installation options. With a diameter of just 41.3 mm, it is designed to fit anywhere on the production line. This allows optimum focus and power density to be achieved without compromising marking quality when trying to use the laser marker in confined spaces.
The 7340 and 7440 models are based on the same proven technology as previous Videojet fibre laser solutions, with marking speeds of up to 2000 characters per second on very dense packaging material over a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics and films, without compromising on marking quality, operating time, marking length or content.
In addition, the 7340 and 7440 fiber lasers have an integrated pilot laser focus finder, which allows easier, faster and more precise focusing during the installation process or when frequent line or product changes are required. Thanks to the integrated pilot laser-based triangulation method, the operator can quickly see whether the laser is in focus without the need for additional measuring equipment and can deliver the best marking results.

The Videojet 7340 and 7440 fibre laser options are available with a range of options that make integration even easier: 0° and 90° marking heads, 3 focal lengths and 2 supply line length options (3 m or 10 m).
Manufacturers can choose from a range of familiar Videojet user interfaces that allow them to control the Videojet 7340 and 7440 fibre laser marking systems, such as Videojet Touch Control Software+ (TCS+), which is specifically designed to allow manufacturers to remotely control Videojet lasers via the TU430 laser controller with 10.1" colour touch screen or virtually any browser-based device (except the Safari browser). Alternatively, the advanced Videojet Laser Controller with CLARiTY™ software is available. It offers an intuitive touch screen, as used in other Videojet marking solutions. This interface allows easy operation and continuous improvement in uptime and productivity.
