Performance Package order marks a first for QIPC in Spain
The Spanish-based print concern Calprint SL has placed an order for a Performance Package from Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC). QIPC, the specialist in automation for the printing industry, is to install the IDS-3D system for colour and register control at Calprint SL's plant in Medina del Campo, close to Valladolid in the centre of Spain. It will be the first closed-loop colour control system to be installed on a coldset press in the country. The Performance Package will also entail the updating of existing Engineering Automation Electronics (EAE) systems.

Reproflex3, which specialises in providing pre-press for FMCG packaging along with premium flexographic plates, has expanded the production facilities at its Newcastle site with the installation of the UK’s second dual-head ThermoFlexX 80-D digital flexo plate imager. The implementation coincides with an increase in the use of nyloflex® photopolymer plates from Flint Group, which is now the parent company of ThermoFlexX following its acquisition of Xeikon.

First Finnish installation of Domino N610i takes place at Karico
Karico, a printing house based in Espoo, which specialises in the production of labels and stickers has recently invested in a 7-colour Domino N610i digital label press as part of a new roll-to-roll production line. Integrated with stations for flexo, foiling, varnishing, laminating, die-cutting and finishing, this modular digital hybrid installation is the first of its kind in Finland. The company plans to use this flexible and extended label production capability to gain new business in a variety of market sectors.
