Recycled paper from Koehler Paper makes ecological watch case possible
How can the customer be given a special unboxing experience? By making the packaging an eye-catcher. There are no limits to creativity when it comes to design. This is shown by the cooperation project of Koehler Paper, Mühle-Glashütte, Langebartels & Jürgens and the creative agency Lehanka. Koehler Paper initiated the idea of an ecological luxury packaging made of 100 % recycled paper, in which a high-quality watch can be placed. Sustainability and recyclability were the central requirements for the packaging, which Koehler developed together with the project partners. Lehanka redesigned the packaging of the luxury watch brand and created a special unboxing experience for the customer. For the project partners, this idea is "sustainable premium packaging par excellence".
Nomination in the "Packaging" category of the Green Product Awards
For the 10th anniversary edition of the Green Product Awards, 1,362 participants from 40 countries applied. After consideration under the criteria of design, innovation and sustainability, the best entries were nominated. The sustainable watch case for a special edition to launch the S.A.R. Mission- Timer TITAN from Mühle-Glashütte is one of the nominees in the packaging category. "Our challenge was to develop a solution for the high-quality watch from Mühle-Glashütte that was made entirely of sustainable recycled paper from Koehler Paper. To avoid a mix of materials, the clock's locking mechanism was also embedded in paper," says Kai-Uwe Lehanka, Managing Director of Lehanka Kommunikationsagentur GmbH. The public vote for the winners of the Green Product Award will take place until 22 January 2023.
