Two print products produced using UV technology win the design competition

With the packaging concept X-Press-U and the Print-Gimmick PadBook, IST Metz wins the German Design Award 2020 twice in the categories Packaging and Print campaign. Both print products were developed and produced in-house during the in-house UV Days exhibition.
In the packaging category, IST Metz convinced the international jury of experts with its X-Press-U packaging concept. "The elaborately produced packaging captivates with various UV printing and finishing techniques and artistically sophisticated illustrations, which together with the interesting enjoyment concept - a special type of coffee with a matching praline - lend it an unmistakable identity," the jury explained.
The Print-Gimmick PadBook was developed for the IST UV Days in-house exhibition to illustrate UV and LED printing and finishing options. This was convincing in the Print campaign category: "The highly elaborately designed and produced folder reflects the event motto 'Tradition meets Modernity' in a comprehensible way. A very well thought-out gimmick that captivates with a noble look and combines many useful functions". With the two award-winning print products, IST Metz wins the German Design Award for the second time in a row. The German Design Award regularly honours innovative products and projects, their manufacturers and designers, who are pioneers in the German and international design landscape.
