Sustainability and the circular economy in the packaging sector worldwide will make a stop in Bologna, at FICO - Eataly World, on 20-21 February 2020, for the first edition of Packaging Speaks Green, the forum organised by Ucima and Fondazione Fico.

An event that aims to focus attention on the need to implement the spread of green solutions, presenting consumption trends and standardisation on a global level thanks to the involvement of scientific and institutional partners from the five continents.

There are already numerous registrations of national and international operators to the forum, interested in the rich panel of speakers present.

Opening the first edition will be the keynote speeches by Silvia Zucconi, Nomisma's Market Intelligence Manager, who will present the Largo Consumo Packaging Observatory on sustainability in purchasing decisions, Nicola De Carne, Nielsen Retailer Client Business Partner, Andrew Manly, Communications Director of AIPIA, the Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association, and Tim Letts, WWF's Climate and Energy Deputy Director.

Regarding the legislation and society, that is the legislative developments of the individual markets in terms of green matters and the perception of the consumer, European, Indian, American, Chinese and Australian institutional representatives will explore the regulatory and consumption framework of each individual territorial area.

The speakers who have already confirmed their presence are Nerida Kelton, Executive Director of AIP, the Australian Institute of Packaging, Sanjay Kr. Chattopadhyay, Director of IIP, the Indian Institute of Packaging and Cui Lin, Secretary General of CFPMA, the China Food And Packaging Machinery Industry Association. Also contributing to the debate will be Sudhir Mishra, Founder & Managing Partner, Trust Legal Advocates & Consultants, one of the major sustainability experts for the Asian area.

The second section of the forum will see the opening speech by Johannes Bergmair, Secretary General of WPO, the World Packaging Organisation, who will be offering an overview of global trends in the green field.
This will be followed by the presentation of a number of case histories of the productive world in which Enrico Dolce, Product Development & Sales Manager of Fater (JV: P&G, Angelini), Joseph Rake, Senior Packaging Manager at Amazon and Chiara Faenza, Quality Management of Coop will be participating.

The future of sustainable packaging is now: and the last in-depth analysis of the forum that will focus on green materials and technologies will be based on this concept.
Paola Fabbri, Associate Professor Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering of the University of Bologna, will introduce the section starting from the "false myths" to then open up the dialogue to a panel involving Marco Versari, Head of Institutional Relations of Novamont, Carlos Trubacz, Amcor's Strategic Marketing Manager, Håkan Pettersson, Business Segment Director of BillerudKorsnäs, Mariagiovanna Vetere, Global Public Affairs Director of NatureWorks, Marco Jansen, Circular Economy & Sustainable Leader Europe & Asia of Braskem Netherlands BV and Laure Cucuron, General Manager of the European office of TerraCycle.
