The Café Franqueza project: improving lives through digital print using the HP Indigo 20000
Established by Ercus Group’s chairman Alejandro España, the Ercus Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization helping farmers in Mexico. Its latest venture, the Café Franqueza project, is focused on the country’s coffee growers. To-date, Café Franqueza has brought together the resources of international organizations, including the Walmart Foundation, to help tens of thousands of farmers improve their farming practices.
The Ercus Group understands the benefits of digital print technology and has invested in HP Indigo presses to create all of its packaging. For the Café Franqueza project, the Ercus Group used its HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press, designed for flexible packaging production, to create a strong image and identity with personalized coffee bags. With Ercus Foundation’s vision and effort, supported by HP digital printing technology, marketing is moving into packaging; a distinctive, new brand is appearing on supermarket shelves, and lives are being transformed.
